Shoes Believe it or not, shoes may disappear if they are right for the rest of the attire, but they are one of the first things people notice if they are not appropriate. Your dress shoes should be visually light in weight. Leave boots and heavy shoes for casual wear or for sports. Even wingtips are not the perfect choice if they have thick rubber soles. Laced shoes are preferred, wingtips are great, but they should be (or look like) quality leather with a hard leather sole.
